History
Also known as The Boys From Killibegs, The Boys Of Killybegs, The Meeting Of The Waters March.
Some comment from The Session; "This is one of those march tunes used often to accompany any of the several takes on the Scottish (country) dance "Gay Gordons""
The tune was used by Andy Stewart when he wrote the song "Take Me Back" (see http://www.andystewart.info/emi/, which contained the words "land of lochs and glens and silver sea" - The original melody for this song is 'The Meeting of the Waters', a traditional tune alleged to (have) originate(d) in the Borders and referring to the meeting of the Gala Water and the Tweed. The tune was extended from two to four parts by Pipe Major Donald MacLeod (1917-1982).
